| ICA Amplifier |

The ICA amplifier is a very small analogue amplifier which has been specifically designed to be built into, or attached to a load cell.
DYS can supply the majority of it's Load Cell Ranges with this fitted Amplifier at a relatively low cost. Two types are available; (ICA420) 4 to 20mA output and (ICA202) 20 - 0- 20 output.
When mounted externally the Amplifier Module is housed in an Aluminium Die Cast waterproof enclosure 90 x 35 x 30mm, with SPAN and ZERO adjustment through sealed screw plugs. The cable EntrylExit is via sealed Cable Glands.
The amplifier PCB module measures 55mm x 20mm x 1 5mm.
| Input Voltage | 12 to 30 V DC | | Power Consumption | 35mA, Excluding load cell supply | | Bridge Excitation | 8.2V DC | | Bridge Resistance | 240 to 1000 Ohms | | Span | 0.3 to 10mV/V @ Full Range | | Zero | +/- 20% of Full Range | | Calibration | 100 kOhm 0.5% Resistor | | remotely activated by a 5V DC signal | | Accuracy | <0.01 % Linearity Error | | Output ICA420 | 4 - 20mA, Max 12V/Max 500 Ohm | | (Optional ICA202) | +/- 20mA, Max 12V/Max 300 Ohm | | Operating Temp | -10°C to +50°C | | Protection | IP65 | | Connections | 4-core Screened Cable |
This amplifier is ideal for situations where long cable runs are required from loadcell to interface equipment due to the Current Loop design - there is no significant loss in signal over very long distances.
It is designed specifically to interface into the EMUX eurocard multiplexer which takes the mA signals from up to 16 ICA amplified load cells, digitises their signals and sends the resultant RS-232 multiplexed data stream out to a computer, Ockam system etc.
