Lou Varney
Started Diverse Yacht Services with Phil Wardrop in 1982. To describe Varney as a highly experienced yacht racer would be an understatement. Currently, Lou Varney is often seen trimming the mainsheet on, Eamon Conneely’s Trans Pac 52, Patches but Varney races on a huge variety of yachts besides TP52s; 12 Metre, Farr 40, Wally and the Ker design “Magic Glove”.
Lou has been racing at the very top level for many years and has gathered a huge amount of practical knowledge at the very top end of the sport, including the America’s Cup. As Lou Varney explains;
“When it comes to working out solutions for yachts, there is no substitute for sailing the yachts. Racing with some of world’s best, also gives a varied and highly refined knowledge base for formulating new ideas and systems which can be developed into better products.”

Co-founder of Diverse Yacht services, Phil hales from Hobart, Tasmania and has been racing all his life, he is a world authority on the latest advances in electronic communication and navigation systems with a technical knowledge that few can match.
