Diverse CAN 2000 Engine Gateway
Genre: Cutting Edge Developments
The CAN 2000 Engine Gateway is a generic NMEA 2000 two way bridge between the NMEA 2000 data from various engine manufactures and the main NMEA 2000 network.
It was developed by Richard Tinley to extract ‘Oil Pressure’ and ‘Trim’ from the proprietary BY Series Yanmar engine PGN and superimpose this information onto the standard NMEA 2000 Engine PGN’s.
The Engine Gateway also has four analogue inputs which can be calibrated via internal potentiometers to add ‘Rudder Angle’, ‘Oil Pressure’ and ‘Engine Trim and Tilt’ data onto the NMEA network. The unit can be quickly custom programmed to order to perform a number of similar tasks.” An example being the activation of a Tilt Guard Relay allowing the engine to tilt only when amidships.
