Container, STP65
Genre: IRC
In the summer of 2008 Diverse yachts were contracted to fit out the electrical/ electronic systems to Udo Schuetz’s long-awaited new Judel-Vrolijk designed STP65 built at the Knierim boatyard in Kiel, Germany.
The boat was constructed using innovative weight saving technology and Diverse Yachts were brought in to bring our experience in the field of competitive racing yachts to the installation.
At the heart of the system was B&G’s advanced WTP system, handling processing of the inputs from all the vital sensors on board from compact solid state heading, heel and trim sensors, load cells measuring forestay, code 0 and mast compression loads, lightweight stringpots for measuring forestay extension, mast base position and rudder angle and the essentials such as wind, speed and depth. Also fitted for longer offshore races and/or deliveries were a radar and autopilot systems, both quickly removable to reduce wait for inshore regattas.
Container showed her credentials during her maiden regatta at the Voiles de St Tropez in Sept/Oct 2008.
