Diverse have been involved with Inoui since 2012 and have continued to work with her since. Most recently with our custom Composite Design & Engineering facility,Tropical Engineering, we have developed a brand new Bow Sprit for Inoui. Custom made, longer & lighter – we think you’ll agree looks pretty impressive!
Diverse first became involved in the exciting Inoui project in January 2012, when Engineer, Mark Cartwright, met with the owner at the London Boat Show. From there a detailed specification was put together and just over a year later, in April 2013 the boat left Vitters yard in the Netherlands and headed off to the Mediterranean for her first season.
The specification was to suit serious inshore racing, and also a busy cruising schedule at the same time, meaning that the equipment supplied needed to be cutting edge and light weight to gain advantage on the race course, but also durable for the offshore passages.
Diverse supplied and fitted the high level B&G WTP 3 system. The race PC was interfaced with an on deck Furuno Navnet system and AIS, an I-Star GPS, a gyro compass for extra accuracy and a large B&G display network.
There were quite a few custom elements to the specification, including:
– Custom high modulus carbon mast head units, build in house at Tropical Engineering (a sister company of Diverse) with an extra lightweight wind cable for the rig
– Custom Diverse position measurement on upper and lower deflector rams.
– Diverse designed and manufactured loadcells for the winches and runners.
This was a really enjoyable project for Diverse. Vitters Boatyard and the crew were excellent to work with and Diverse continue to support Inoui both remotely and in person when required.
