Lou started Diverse Yacht Services with Phil Wardrop in 1982. To describe Varney as a highly experienced yacht racer would be an understatement. Currently, Lou Varney is often seen trimming the mainsheet on Trans Pac 52, Audi Q8 but Varney races on a huge variety of yachts besides TP52s; 12 Metre, Farr 40, Wally and the highly successful IRC 52, Rán.
Lou has been racing at the very top level for many years and has gathered a huge amount of practical knowledge at the very top end of the sport, including the America’s Cup. As Lou Varney explains;
